One of the UK's leading suppliers of turnkey test and assembly solutions with over 50 years' experience are now seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their team in the Midlands. Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Up to £55,000 + Flexitime, Hybrid, Pension & Healthcare
40 Hours Per Week – Early Friday Finish.

Senior Electrical Design Engineer- The Role:
- Responsible for all electrical designs
- Provide technical information and answer technical questions for team members
- Design and develop new products providing suitable production information for their manufacture and up keep, completing projects within date and budget
- Estimate, design, modify and build products in line with the company procedure
- Ensure Special Project requests are completed and returned within specified time
- Provide technical information and liaison to help achieve production schedules
- Provide technical information to assist in the generation of technical manuals
- Perform panel tests and commission new installations
- Train internal and external staff/customers on related products
- Support Trainees and Apprentices with their development and assign tasks
- Directly support customers with any needs
Senior Electrical Design Engineer- The Person:
- HNC or above in an electrical engineering or similar discipline
- Use AutoCAD and Eplan P8 to create electrical schematics, panel layouts and installation cable drawings
- Knowledge of control systems, sensors or instrumentation
- Knowledge of LV control panel layout and design
- All round general knowledge of electrical disciplines
- Ability to work alone as well as part of a small team
- Able to produce safety system designs to required Safety Integrity Levels (SIL) or Performance Level (PL)
- Knowledge of the latest standards to comply with the Low Voltage & EMC Directives
- Knowledge of the following:
- Motors, electrical machines and AC/DC variable speed motor drives and control gear
- Data acquisition systems
- Instrumentation
- Pneumatics
- Power systems, including protection, fault analysis, and power quality
- Experience designing control system for special purpose machinery
- Experience in hazardous area design (ATEX/DESAR) with a COMPEX qualification
- PLC Knowledge
Located in Worcestershire, this role would be commutable from Birmingham, Stratford, Leamington Spa, Coventry and surrounding areas.
