Job Description: Workshop Storesman / driver
Position Overview:
We are seeking organised Workshop Storesman to join our team and play a crucial role in managing our workshop's tools and materials. The ideal candidate will have a keen attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to efficiently coordinate the storage and distribution of various workshop supplies and equipment. As a Workshop Storesman, you will contribute to the smooth operation of the workshop by ensuring that all necessary items are readily available for production and installation activities.
Responsibilities:
Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments of materials, tools, and equipment for accuracy and quality.
Unload, sort, and properly store items in designated locations within the workshop, ensuring efficient utilization of space.
Maintain accurate tool inventory records through digital or manual systems, recording stock levels of consumables.

Organise and label storage areas, shelves, and bins to facilitate easy access and retrieval of items.

We would require the candidate to sometimes cover driving duties from time to time.

When no stores man duties to be carried out successful candidate will be given light workshop duties such as roller painting and maintaining cleanliness of the workshop.

Prepare and package items for distribution to various departments, ensuring accurate item labelling and delivery collection notes .
Coordinate with workshop supervisors to understand upcoming projects and material requirements to ensure timely availability of necessary items.
Assist in conducting periodic physical inventory counts and reconciliations to ensure accuracy of inventory records.

Collaborate with colleagues to ensure compliance with safety regulations and proper handling of hazardous materials.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the stores area.
Assist in implementing improvements to inventory management processes.
Communicate effectively with team members, suppliers, to resolve issues.
Fork truck experience/licence would be beneficial.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a storesman, storekeeper, or similar role, preferably in a workshop or industrial setting.

Spreadsheet experience would be beneficial.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording and handling materials.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with various departments and external suppliers.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting to changing priorities.
Physical ability to lift and move heavy items when required.
Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols related to material handling.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve inventory-related issues.

Competitive rate dependant on experience
hours 8.00a.m.-4.30 Monday to Thursday, 8.00 - 3.30 Friday
over time : Time and half after basic hours
