The University of Leeds has been entrusted by the UK government to spearhead the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Research Delivery Network Coordinating Centre. This prestigious endeavour, joined by 12 Regional Delivery Networks across the nation, will form the NIHR Research Delivery Network (RDN). Operating as a unified organisation, we aim to balance regional expertise with national strategy, serving as a beacon for health, public health, and social care research.

Position Overview:

As a pivotal member of the RDN national leadership team, you will embody visible, dynamic, and effective senior leadership. Your role will encompass providing strategic oversight for business development and marketing of NIHR services. You will devise and implement strategies to position the NIHR as a preferred global destination for both commercial and non-commercial research endeavours, fostering enduring partnerships and ensuring repeat business.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute strategies to elevate NIHR's reputation Forge strategic alliances with research funders, life sciences companies, and other stakeholders. Collaborate with other Directors to lead a comprehensive organisational transformation, ensuring unified operations across England Lead a team dedicated to driving organisational transformation and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation. Serve as the face of the organisation, utilizing your influence to shape perceptions and foster meaningful relationships.

What We’re Looking for:

• Exceptional strategic and operational expertise in the life sciences industry and non-commercial research.
• Proven ability to provide visionary leadership across diverse organisational landscapes.
• Strong grasp of health and care research delivery policy and practice, with a keen understanding of complex policy and political issues.
• Demonstrated ability to inspire and influence stakeholders across various settings.
• Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as needed.
