They have multiple offices across the UK and have a solid reputation for successful project delivery throughout numerous sectors within the Built Environment. Projects can vary from small works to GBP100m across Education, Heritage, High–End Residential, Cultural, Laboratories and more. They have a very modern, open–plan office space and offer excellent opportunities for progression.They are currently seeking either a Principal Mechanical Engineer or a Technical Director with a Mechanical bias (Building Services) to join their Edinburgh office and assist with successful project delivery.
Role
- Leading and managing a team of engineers and technicians
- Overseeing the design, installation and maintenance of mechanical systems in buildings
- Collaborating with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Developing and implementing strategies to improve efficiency and quality of mechanical systems.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Managing project budgets and timelines.
- Providing technical expertise and guidance to the team.
- Conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback to team members.
Qualfications / Experience
- A bachelor's or masters degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Chartered engineer with CIBSE or IET.
- Extensive experience in the design and installation of mechanical systems in buildings.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with experience in leading teams and overseeing projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations related to mechanical building services.
- Excellent technical expertise in HVAC systems, plumbing, fire protection and other mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in mechanical design and analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
