Key Responsibilities and background: Senior Quality Control Inspector (Civil)to join their project delivery team on-site in Whitby on 12 month contract basis.
The Quality Control (QC) Inspector is responsible for determining that the work completed by the Contractors / Sub-contractors, Vendors and Supplier is to the standards determined and specified by the Project and designer at their allocated work areas. This will include the witnessing of tests performed on and, occasionally, off-site, in the form of Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT’s).
The QC Inspector will follow the requirements of the Inspection & Test Plan(s) (ITP’s) and complete the relevant forms demanded by the ITP to establish and document verification activities facilitating a fit for purpose overall delivery of works.
Key Responsibilities and background: - Performs field verification of structural discipline QA/QC processes including:
- Intervention points associated with Inspection and Test plans (ITPs).
- In-process inspections.
- Ensures timely action is taken to complete relevant tasks.
- Complete discipline system acceptance walk downs with constructors to punch-list and obtain mechanical completion for hand over to Commissioning.
- Monitors construct or testing and performance metrics and escalates trends for action.
- Manage documents and records relating to discipline QA/QC including certifying tests, inspections, NCRs, and reports.
- Reviews and approves discipline QA/QC documentation submitted for the construction works, including, but not limited to:
- Constructor ITPs, ITRs, MRB.
- Monitors subcontractor preservation and control of equipment (including IMT&E).
- Identifies Opportunities for Improvement and Non-conformance events and advises remediations required with the intent to continuously improve quality outcomes on the project.
- Completes own internal reporting requirements and supports manager to deliver regular Quality reports.

Critical Skills & Personal AttributesEssential: - Strong knowledge of relevant national and international standards and codes for related discipline (e.g. BS, EN and ISO)
- Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and achieve project goals and milestones
- Good understanding of Quality Management System methods and workflow relationships
- Auditing experience
- Work as part of a multi-discipline quality team, preparation and be involved in the review of Quality, Design, Procurement, Construction and Completion’s process deliverable activities.
- Verification of construction / completions. Commissioning documentation and red line / as built drawings included within handover dossiers at all stages of project life cycles
- Review and accept final project documentation regarding contractor submissions and related equipment to support the ITR completions process, in line with project Standards and Process requirements.
- A degree / HND / HNC qualification in the related discipline
- Qualification in management system auditing.
- Proven background in Commissioning and Completions software
- Strong foundation in general business IT systems (e.g. Microsoft Packages).
