Success is not the work of one, but the work of many.

Over the past few years our Perioperative Unit has been undergoing an exciting transformation. We now have a new PACU, DOSA, an upgrade to our Sterile Services and a new Operating Theatre which will open at the end of 2023.

This means we now have multiple opportunities across the unit to support the health requirements of the Hawkes Bay community.

In Hawke’s Bay, we offer exposure to a wide range of surgical specialties, including Vascular, complex Laparoscopic and Orthopaedic surgeries. Our acute Theatre runs 24/7 and we have an Orthopaedic Trauma Theatre which runs 6 days out of 7. We cover all secondary public hospital specialties and perform on average 12,000 procedures per annum.

We have a large population catchment, which means our teams are involved in some very complex surgical procedures, both elective and acutely, hence the learning opportunities with us are vast.

We are now looking for the following position:Perioperative Anaesthetic Technician

The friendly team of Anaesthetic Technicians cover operating theatres and also provide support to Radiology, CCU and ED. The icing on the cake is that we also have the opportunity to work in ICU and are heavily involved in aeromedical transfers to and from major centres all over NZ.

Education and professional development are a priority for our team. We will support and encourage you to advance in your chosen career.

Professionalism, care, improvement and teamwork are integral values for our department.

If you are looking for a change, thinking of relocating or you have wanted to work within the Perioperative Unit, then we want to hear from you.

Please apply via the link below or email Lauren Hickey the Perioperative Administration Coordinator [email protected] and we will get back to your enquiry.

Located in the sunny Hawkes Bay we live in pure paradise. We are known for award-winning food and wine, outstanding architecture, and warm balmy days surrounded by magnificent landscape.

Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Te Matau a Māui, Hawke’s Bay in general encourages a workforce that is innovative, eager to learn and enhance their skills and is passionate about caring for our community.
