Job description
JOB PURPOSE
You will provide effective support to the Headteacher and senior leadership team enabling them to successfully lead on teaching, learning, behaviour and welfare by:
- leading, managing and developing the use of data in all school information management systems ensuring accuracy. This includes: tracking, reporting and analysis.
- having a strategic overview for the administration, organisation and smooth running of external and internal examinations
- implementing and maintaining the school timetable
WORK PERFORMED
Data:
- Lead on all areas of the student database ensuring accuracy and timely updates
- Develop and maintain systems to track progress for each year group to inform personalisation. This includes marksheets and the upkeep of data analysis programmes.
- Support the collection, collation, analysis and dissemination of assessment data to inform target setting procedures and tracking of student progress across the curriculum.
- Produce relevant reports for all stakeholders and work with relevant staff, as required, to consider data and identify trends, patterns, threats and opportunities.
- Calculate estimates, set and review targets to measure student progress
- Manage the data-collection aspects of the new intake procedure
- Deal with Freedom of Information requests, along with the appropriate member of SLT
- Work with the Trust’s IT team to ensure the integration of all school information management systems
- Lead and support other members of staff on the uses and interpretations of data
- Manage and complete required statutory and local data/admissions returns. This includes those to the LA, DfE and the Trust.
Timetable:
- Work with the Deputy Headteacher:
- In the production and upkeep of the school’s timetable. This will include timetable design, class lists, staffing and rooming.
- to organise the collection, collation and analysis of options data to enable the construction of a workable timetable.
- Maintain the timetable with changes in relation to students, staff, rooms etc. and to ensure that the information is up-to-date and reliable.
Examinations:
- Have a strategic overview of all internal and external examination and testing arrangements within school.
- Ensure all internal and external examinations are implemented efficiently and effectively and that they meet regulatory and awarding body requirements as necessary Lead on the recruitment, training and management of the invigilation team. Lead on download and dissemination of results for all qualifications
Other:
- To prepare for and co-ordinate Presentation Evening.
- To work in a manner which specifically establishes a good working example contributing to the overall ethos, work and aims of the school
- To develop constructive relationships and communicate with other agencies and professionals.
- To positively share expertise and skills with others including Trust colleagues
- To participate in training and other learning activities as required including appraisal
- To recognise own strengths and areas of expertise and use these to advise and support others.
- Undertake other reasonable duties as requested by the Headteacher or the Trust.
- Job requires prolonged periods of enhanced mental attention with high levels of work-related pressure from deadlines, interruptions or conflicting demands.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential.
PEOPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Line managing the data and exams administrator Line manage a team of invigilators and to co-ordinate effective invigilation for all public examinations.
- Advise, guide and train other staff as necessary on matters related to data and exams
SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILTIES
- The post holder is responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults she/he is responsible for or comes into contact with.

- To ensure safe and proper use of equipment. To be responsible for the examination safe room and ensuring that all requirements are met and upheld

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
