Ensuring at all times the PPL Health & Safety and environmental policy is fully complied with by all PSP staff, all visiting persons and maintenance engineers.
Loading the PSP infeed and out feeding conveyers with loose paper.
Moving produced bales into storage locations and or loading onto shipping transport.
Monitoring quality of received raw materials to ensure correct moisture and content.
Assisting with sample taking in co-operation with the PSP Process Engineer.
Assist during plant maintenance as required by the PSP supervisor and Process Engineer.
Reporting malfunctioning equipment or vehicle faults to the PSP Process Engineer.
Completion of area and equipment checklists e PSP.
The jobholder may be required to carry out additional tasks as instructed by the line manager
Essential knowledge, skills and experiences required
Basic secondary education minimum 4 GCSE or equivalent vocational qualifications.
Able to read, understand and comply with written instructions in English language.
Able to understand and speak fluently in English language.
Ideal but not essential, technically skilled with some formal training and experienced in either a mechanical or electrical engineering discipline.
Person should be able to offer flexible working times when required. Although working a fixed shift contract, the role of PSP Assistant will occasionally require alternate working times to meet PSP operational needs. This could involve starting early, finishing late or both depending on operational needs.
Physically fit and able bodied – work will be arduous and physically demanding.
Comfortable with confined spaces – work will involve cleaning and basic maintenance some of which will be inside separation machinery.
Willing to travel to an operationally similar separation facility to undergo training and work experience
A working knowledge of Risk Assessment process and H&S at work.
