Why this job matters

The role is critical to the operational teams supporting the Defence customer communications systems. Failure of the tooling platform would hinder the ability of the Enterprise Managed Services (EMS) teams to monitor, manage and restore services to our SLAs damaging the reputation of the BT brand with our customer.

The role is for a specialist within a technical team maintaining the BT defence IT tooling platforms which provide the systems to support multiple defence contracts.

This role is based in Chippenham only. Office based. Mon-Fri 8am-4pm. Must be UK resident for 10 years in order to obtain SC or DV clearance.

  1. Administration/Support of MS SQL Server Database infrastructures.SQL high availability, load balancing and disaster recovery practices.

  2. Routing, switching and security protocols and technologies. Diagnosing network faults and actioning network configuration changes - Juniper networks and Palo Alto Firewalls experience desirable
