Job description
Kepak Group is currently seeking a Quality Controller to join our team at the CCP Stand facility. This is a critical role ensuring that all production processes meet the required quality standards and comply with food safety regulations.
Kepak Red Meat UK, which includes St Merryn and McIntosh Donald as its two brands, operates from three locations in the UK. The St. Merryn site in Bodmin, Cornwall is able to slaughter 1,500 cattle every week. The St. Merryn site in Merthyr Tydfil has both beef and lamb processing and packing facilities, and has the capacity to slaughter 20,000 lambs and 2,000 cattle per week. Our second site, McIntosh Donald, located in Aberdeen, is capable of slaughtering 2,500 lambs and 1,800-2,000 cattle every week. Furthermore, we have dedicated retail packing capabilities within our business, offering a wide range of beef and lamb products. These products range from retail ready cuts for butchers’ counters to branded packaged meat, all as part of our service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and inspect all aspects of the production process to ensure compliance with CCP (Critical Control Points) standards.
- Conduct regular checks and tests to ensure that all products meet the required specifications and quality standards.
- Identify and address any quality issues or defects in a timely manner.
- Implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence of quality issues.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of quality inspections and tests.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address any quality-related concerns and implement process improvements as necessary.
Requirements
- Prior experience in a quality control role, preferably in a food production environment.
- Knowledge of H.A.C.C.P principles is desirable, although training will be given.
- Thorough knowledge of CCP standards and food safety regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

You will be working Monday to Friday 07:00 am start to production finish. The position offers a full time contract.
Rate of pay is £11.92 per Hour
