CPJ Field & Co is one of the UK’s leading independent Funeral Directors, based in Burgess Hill, West Sussex. Owned and managed by the Field Family, the company has offices across Sussex and the Southeast of England.
Our Family business is seeking to appoint a Marketing Executive on a 1-year Fixed Term contract to cover a period of maternity leave. In an industry sector requiring maturity and a level of sensitivity, we are looking for a motivated, proactive individual who is looking to be empowered and grow their experience in this supported, yet autonomous, marketing position within in industry leading family business.
Playing a pivotal role in promoting the business through multiple channels and reporting to the Marketing Director, key responsibilities for this position include:
- Executing marketing activity both on and offline. The creation of monthly social media content plans, management and oversight of social media and content across all channels; harnessing creativity and audience insights to accurately target content.
- Website management, ensuring content is current including the latest news & imagery.
- Managing advertising in local publications alongside our freelance designer and developing copy for internal newsletters.
- Working with our digital marketing agency on copy checking content for blogs, new webpages etc.
- Occasional event management from a community engagement perspective as well as in support of an annual company gathering.
- Externally, booking and coordinating small scale media and digital advertising, liaising with and managing daily relations with agencies (PR and digital) and in-house community champions on a local level.
- Building and maintaining relationships with colleagues and key stakeholders
- Reporting and presenting marketing updates
We are looking for an individual who is:
- Passionate about Marketing / Digital Marketing with good experience in the fundamentals of Online Marketing incl. social media and experience of managing client / agency relationships
- Creative and innovative, with the ability to turn a sensitive topic into clever marketing. Experienced in managing social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc.
- A confident presenter demonstrating a strong track record of stakeholder management; working with colleagues and into the Senior Leadership team
- Enjoys staying abreast of competitor and sector news / trends, always looking for best practice techniques
- Experienced in liaising with external stakeholders / agencies
- Has a personal drive and passion for your career with self-motivation and the ability to work autonomously within a small team environment
- Has excellent written and spoken English, with a keen eye for detail
- Ideally degree educated in Marketing, Digital Media or similar
This role is based at our Regional Support Centre in Burgess Hill, West Sussex
