Rebellion North are looking for an experienced Senior Unreal Programmer to work on Rebellion games as well as trusted industry partners on genre-defining AAA IPs. You will have the opportunity to join an ambitious team working on multiple projects using different engines including Unreal 5. Join us as we shoot for the stars!
You will be joining the talented Rebellion North studio based in Ossett, Wakefield. Rebellion North are a dynamic and growing team who relish challenges and punching above their weight. The Opportunity The successful candidate will be working on an exciting unannounced title. This position is ideal for a seasoned Programmer with exceptional proficiency in Unreal Engine. We are looking for someone who lives and breathes code, and who will take ownership of designing and implementing game systems that are scalable and efficient which targets all the latest platforms. As a Senior Programmer, you will be self-motivated with a high level of initiative and able to work unsupervised. This role involves taking responsibility for assisting and mentoring Junior Programmers, as well as proactively recognising potential technical risks throughout the development process.
Our preference is for candidates to work together at our Wakefield site but hybrid candidates will also be considered
Responsibilities :
- Write robust, optimised, and maintainable code to support iterative feature development.
- Collaborate productively within a large multi-disciplined project team, to ensure we satisfy game requirements and quality.
- Mentor others on your team as required.
- Write and maintain technical documentation.
- Research on tools, techniques, and processes, and provide constructive feedback on how they can benefit the team.
Requirements - Experience with Unreal Engine.
- Excellent C/C++ skills.
- Professional experience working on published console/PC games.
- Strong debugging, profiling, optimising, systems design, and 3D math skills.
- Knowledge of development tools such as Visual Studio and understanding of version control systems.
- Organised thinking when breaking down tasks and documenting.
- Knowledge of multiplayer and online game development is desirable
- Knowledge of Unreal's Gameplay Ability System (GAS) is advantageous
