Job description
This is a varied Financial Controller role, reporting directly to the CFO and executive team.
The Financial Controller will lead a team of 3 reports covering all financial operations and support in delivering commercial insight whilst ensuring excellent processes and controls are implemented.
Financial Controller Responsibilities:
- Lead financial operations with a team completing month-end close processes, including all P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliations for all group entities.
- Optimise internal controls, processes, and automate software to ensure best practices are adopted across the group Netsuite ERP
- Work closely with the buying, merchandising and warehouse teams to ensure robust controls and reporting around inventory and 'open to buy' commitments, and managing the product margin reporting
- Own the monthly group management accounts preparation and consolidation process, including board and private equity reporting
- Own the year end audit and statutory reporting cycle
- Cashflow forecasting on a weekly and monthly basis
- Preparation of VAT returns, working with tax authorities and ensuring tax compliance across VAT, PAYE, corporation tax and customs.
- Business partner to internal teams driving commercial insights and supporting business growth, providing financial analysis to help improve decision making
Ideal Financial Controller Requirements:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Prior retail/ecommerce experience
- Commercially and technically astute with excellent communication skills
- Experience managing a team
- NetSuite / ERP experience
