Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver “better trained sailors to the front line faster”.
As part of this exciting Transformational Training programme the Submarine Training Centre (STC) is moving to a brand new facility at HMNB Clyde, of which this role will be integral to the successful transition into Selborne.
Reporting to the Deputy Director of Training Delivery, the individual will act as the senior training delivery manager overseeing all aspects of training delivery within the Submarine Training facility HMNB Clyde. The Regional Training manager (North) will lead training operations to ensure that training and learning are delivered safely and achieve all KPIs relating to training output and quality.
The Regional training Manager will direct and oversee the activities of training delivery staff within their functional/geographical area including the direct management of Fisher staff and functional responsibility for uniformed training delivery staff, working in collaboration with the military chain of command within Training Establishments and the Performance and Operations Pillar of the TMG.

Job Description:
What you’ll be doing:
- Being accountable for the quality and outcomes of all training delivery and training operations within the Submarine training Centre, ensuring training meets trainee and service requirements as well as those of external bodies (accredited and funded learning)
- Providing site and region-based leadership of the training function and to all training personnel including instructors, supervisors and training support personnel in Clyde
- Directing and overseeing the activities of all Fisher training delivery staff and military training staff within the footprint, in collaboration with the military chain of command for Uniform staff
- Ensuring that all training is delivered safely and in line with RN and Fisher safety standards and procedures
- Working with Deputy Director and Head of Learning & Development to ensure that trainers and instructors are Suitably Qualified and Experienced to deliver the required training supporting the delivery of appropriate initial and continuing professional development including Defence Trainer Courses
- Advocating continual quality improvement across the organisation
- Leading in the establishment of excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
- Established leadership experience delivering learning programmes and supporting functions
- Any experience within the Military/MOD/Navy would be highly beneficial
- Proven ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
- Instrumental in the modernisation of training - delivering high level of training
- Experience of delivering accredited and regulated programmes such as apprenticeships, degrees or RQF qualifications would be an advantage
- Experience working with senior level stakeholders
- Experience of the use of technology to support learning delivery.
- Must be able to obtain UK SC clearance
About Project Selborne
Project Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK, Elbit Systems UK, Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.
