Job description

VD Recruitment has partnered with a well established nursery in South East London. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Level 3 Nursery Practitioner to join their dynamic team at the Ofsted Rated ‘Good’ nursery registered for 60 children.

The main duties expected of a Nursery Practitioner is to assist in the planning, organising and co-coordinating a programme of activities within the room, in accordance with the practice guidelines outlined by EYFS and Ofsted.

Salary for Nursery Practitioner : upto £25,500/pa
Location – Forest Hill, SE23
Hours: 40 hours/ week . Full Time.

Your Responsibilities as a Nursery Practitioner / Early Years Practitioner :

• To contribute to a programme of engaging learning opportunities suitable to the age range of children.
• Support all staff and engage in a good staff team.
Liaise with and support parents and other family members.
• To attend out of working hours activities e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parent’s evening, summer fun day, Christmas party etc
• To be flexible within working practices of the nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc.
• Adhere to all safeguarding policies and procedures
• To ensure mealtimes are a time of pleasant social sharing.
• Providing comfort and warmth to the children.
• To ensure the provision of a high-quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
• To be aware of the ethos of the Nursery and to uphold its standards at all times

Qualifications and Skills for Nursery Practitioner

• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or higher
• A recent First Aid qualification is preferred
• A firm understanding of the EYFS framework
• Experience and knowledge of Safeguarding Prac
