Are you an analytical mind with a hunger for identifying and pursuing new opportunities in the (marine) ecosystems sector? We're seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager for our Leidschendam head office, based in the Netherlands, to spearhead our ground-breaking initiatives in Climate & Nature.
Your role will be key in expanding our global footprint within the environmental sector, taking the lead in key priority markets including (coastal) flood risk and protection, nature-based solutions, ecosystem conservation and restoration, plus marine spatial planning. As the driving force behind our Climate and Nature initiatives, your task will encompass shaping strategies and leading their development within our cross-regional team. You contribute to the overall growth strategy of the company. You demonstrate ambition and energy to expand into new markets and client types, this will involve 30/50% global traveling.
Your expertise extends across the entire value chain - from establishing baselines to risk modelling, change monitoring, providing decision support tools, and delivering geo-data consultancy services.
Your comprehensive understanding of diverse markets, coupled with your vigilance in tracking industry trends, regulations, and emerging prospects, sets you apart. You have exceptional business development and client management skills. Therefore, you're adept at navigating the Geo-data value chain (map-model-monitor).
The role:
As a Business Development Manager - Climate & Nature you will:
You develop a Climate & Nature go-to-market strategy in priority markets, aiming to achieve a 2025 backlog that includes coastal flood risk mapping projects.
You establish client programs aimed at capitalizing on market opportunities to create a profitable business model in future markets.
You develop client programs driven by data insights to establish a Geo-data value proposition for emerging markets.
You create and implement a scalable Geo-data value proposition tailored for the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) market.
You create a 2024 backlog of projects with risk modelling and monitoring scope.
You build long-term relationships & brand presence as trusted advisor, understand clients & needs, understand value to clients. You do this by maintaining pragmatic and client-focused, ensuring customer satisfaction, and building long-term relationships.
Who we're looking for:
You have a bachelor's degree in a relevant earth science discipline.
You have a proven track record in business development within the geo-data or environmental services industry, with a focus on climate and nature-related services.
You have a deep understanding of geo-data and its applications in environmental services.
You have knowledge of the broader climate and nature sectors.
You have excellent English language skills both written and oral.
