Position: Deputy Manager - Children's Residential Care Solo Placements

We are currently looking for an experienced and dedicated Deputy Manager to join our team and support our mission.

 

As the Deputy Manager of Children's Residential Care, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our residential facility. You will work closely with the Manager and other team members to ensure that our residents receive the best possible care and support. Your strong leadership skills and passion for helping children will help us maintain our high standards for the well-being of our residents.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Manage and supervise the care team, ensuring that they are trained, knowledgeable, and motivated.

- Oversee the day-to-day running of the residential facility, including managing rotas and coordinating activities for residents.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of residents' progress, ensuring confidentiality is maintained at all times.

- Conduct regular team meetings and provide support and guidance to team members as needed.

- Work collaboratively with external agencies, such as social workers and schools, to ensure the best possible care for our residents.

- Act as a positive role model for residents, promoting independence, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging.

- Ensure that all policies, procedures, and regulations are followed by the team to maintain a safe and healthy environment for residents.

- Assist with recruitment, training, and performance management of care staff.

- Provide support to the Manager in developing and implementing strategies to enhance the quality of care provided.

- Keep up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field of children's residential care, and apply this knowledge to improve our services.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a leadership role within a residential care setting for children/young people.

- A relevant qualification in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People.

- Experience working with complex needs and challenging behaviors.

- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and other relevant regulations and legislation.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to remain calm in a crisis and make quick and appropriate decisions.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of our residents.

 

Working Hours:

 

This is a full-time, permanent position. You will be required to work a mix of day, evening, and weekend shifts, based on the needs of the residents and the home.

Salary is based on a 40 hour contract overtime is paid at £15 pounds per hour and sleep ins are paid at an additional £70 per sleep.
