Location: Cheadle, Greater Manchester
We can offer a hybrid approach to office and remote working. We would expect 3 days per week as the standard days at the Cheadle site.

The role:
As Sector Hardware Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing sector level functional leadership to the team of hardware engineers based across our two sites, Cheadle & Templecombe (Somerset). As a leader within the function, you will take responsibility for the development of the team’s skills and knowledge, ensuring that the current future capabilities of the growing sector are taken into account. You role will also operate as site lead for all Hardware Engineering personnel at Cheadle. Thought leadership, strategic development and passion for developing capabilities for a growing and evolving business will be key to this role.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Support the Portfolio Hardware Engineering Managers in the development and maintainenacne of resilient and high performing teams
Develop and maintain Knowledge Transfers, opportunities for growth, and strategic capability planning for the team across the sector, ensuring opportunites between portfolios are expored and accounted for;
Management of expectations of key stakeholders (Head of Engineering Delivery, Programme Manager, Product Architects, Product Design Authorities);
Site lead and POC for all Hardware Engineering personnel, regardless of Line management structure
We are looking for a forward thinking and strategic leader with experience within an appropriate Engineering Defence or Aerospace team. You will have the ability to effectively manage and build relationships across the business, combined with a strong record of managing effective trams, tackling under performance and recognising success and talent. You will possess effective personal organisational skills, being able to remain focused under pressure.
