Job description
What you will do in your working day
MAIN DUTIES
- Working with existing metrology personnel & the quality team to ensure correct inspection methods are utilized throughout the production period from concept through continued process improvement.
- Maintaining the gauging system to ensure calibration is kept up to date & on track.
- Full inspection of components including metallurgical analysis, hardness testing & liaison with external testing facilities.
- Following calibration procedures, performing Internal calibrations & arranging external calibrations.
- Ensuring all inspection facilities are up to standard in terms of equipment, cleanliness & maintenance.
- Programming & use of CMM/vision technology, optical & form measurement equipment.
- Training of personnel in inspection methods & use of equipment.
DAILY DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Checking of incoming material certification at receiving.
- Identifying, assisting & performing required M.S.A studies.
- Internal quality product auditing.
- Liaison with customer quality assurance representatives.
- Liaison with suppliers.
- Vendor assessment. (Identifying suitable suppliers).
- Assistance with resolution of quality problems.
- Ensuring inspection documentation is correct & up to date.
The training you will be getting
- Level 3 Engineering Technician standard
- 4 Priorswood Place, Skelmersdale WN8 9QB
- Day release one day a week
Apprentice will achieve the following upon successful completion of the apprenticeship:
- Level 2 Foundation Competence qualification
- Level 3 Development Technical Knowledge qualification
- Level 3 Development Competence qualification
