Alecto Recruitment is looking to hear from General Building Operatives interested in a full time, permanent position based in Bradford travelling around their schools.
This role will be mobile so frequent travel around Bradford will be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure smooth running of the school premises.
- Carrying out varied elements of Building Maintenance including but not exclusive of: Joinery Works, Plastering Works, Decorations, Flooring, Tiling, Plumbing etc.
- Carrying out day-to-day DIY/maintenance and minor repairs to elements of the Building Fabric across 7 Sites on the Schools Portfolio
- Opening the building in the morning and locking it at the end of the day may be required on a Caretaker Cover Basis as required.
- To ensure heating, lighting and alarm systems are working properly may be required on a Caretaker Cover Basis as required.
- Daily responsible to check that all doors and windows are locked when the building is not in use may be required on a Caretaker Cover Basis as required.
- Checking the premises to guard against vandalism may be required on a Caretaker Cover Basis as required.
- Arranging chairs and tables for meetings or assemblies and clearing away afterwards may be required on a Caretaker Cover Basis as required.
- Working under direction of the Hard Services Manager/Assistant Hard FM
- Always keeping in line with best practice and health and safety regulations.
- Carrying out PPM's may be required on a Caretaker Cover Basis as required.
- On Call Cover on a Rota Basis to cover Out of Hours Call Outs
Requirements
- Knowledge and previous experience in Building Fabric, Building Trades and practical DIY skills for Building Fabric Repairs/Minor Works
- Full Clean Driving Licence
- Self-motivated with a positive attitude
- Good Team Player
- Flexible with shift work
- Good at developing strong working relationships with on-site client and employees
- Committed to providing excellent customer service
- Knowledgeable of Health and Safety regulation
- Familiar with COSHH standards
- Basic IT skills
