We are currently working with an Urgent Care Centre in Dorchester providing Locum Emergency Nurse Practitioner cover.

There will also be an opportunity for ongoing locum opportunities at this urgent care centre.

The successful candidate will be a band 6-7 nurse and hold an up to date nursing certificate. The candidate will need to be able to assess, treat and discharge patients without referring to any other clinician.

To work successfully in the urgent care centre we are recruiting for, the ENP will able to plaster, bandage, stitch and X-Ray. Having the capacity to see minor sickness and prescribe is an advantage but not essential for the role.

Emergency Nurse Practitioner Job Description:

The content of this job description is designed to be inclusive of a broad range of tasks which may be performed by an emergency nurse practitioner. An emergency nurse practitioner role will responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, without supervision and will be required to teach other nursing and non-nursing staff. The position encompasses a specialist clinical role of Emergency Nurse Practitioner. It is essential that an ENP will be  NMC registered Nurse with formal ENP qualification.

This post is written to be an equivalent for Agenda for Change (AFC) Band 8. Duties will vary from practice to practice and this is a guide only. Practice accountability structures will also vary.

Emergency Nurse Practitioner Scope Of Practice

Co-ordinates the provision of seamless care for patients from admission to discharge by utilising efficient verbal and written communication practices with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary Team / Primary Care Services and Carers.

Provides senior cover for, and is responsible for the ongoing management of the ward/ department area in the absence of the senior nurse.
