Job description
Personal Assistant required for a 10-year-old boy who has Down’s Syndrome and hearing loss, and he would like someone who he can build up a positive relationship with and provide him with some support.
He would like someone to support him with his communication and encourage him to engage in play at home and enable access to the wider community. Living in the Launceston area. Rate of pay £10.90 per hour. Up to 4 hours per week are available, although this is very flexible. Some weekend and school holiday availability will be required. Car driver preferred but not essential. Some knowledge or personal experience of working with young people with special educational needs is essential. The successful applicant will be employed under a private arrangement with the family. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All offers of employment will be subject to the successful candidate undertaking an enhanced DBS check; this administration process will be undertaken by Cornwall Council.
