Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced Hydraulic Modeller to join our dynamic and growing Clean Water Team. This role is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Modeller to further their experience and thrive in an environment where there is plenty of opportunity to develop.

Day to day…


* Use of existing hydraulic models for a range of needs, including design of assets, operational support and planning.
* Use of modelling and statistical analysis to investigate asset risk to enable appropriate management of water assets.
* Liaison with clients and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of projects to time, cost and quality.
* Preparation of deliverables including technical reports, hydraulic models, presentations and web-based reporting.
* Use of models to understand system performance, design system improvements and enhancements to clean water networks, taking into account key factors including customer service levels, resilience, growth, leakage, water quality.
* Pressure Management and Network Optimisation, at various scales from sub-DMA to large zonal schemes. This may include trialling of new software and approaches, to ensure client needs are met.
* Developer Impact Assessment and growth studies encompassing a range of complex needs.


What you need to succeed…


* Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or relevant subject.
* An understanding of hydraulic principals, experience in water network hydraulic modelling and modelling software such as: InfoWorks, Synergi, EPAnet, InfoWater
* The ability to work with large volumes of data and use analytics to spot trends and patterns, present data and identify solutions.
* Sound working knowledge of using GIS tools is preferable (ARCGIS and MAPINFO) and Microsoft Office.
