Job description

Makerfield Depot / Wigan Life Centre South

Salary: Grade 6, £27,344 - £30,296 per annum.

37 hours per week

Your role:

You will be responsible for dealing with and responding to a range of works relating to our highway network, traffic management, parking and print services. These services operate 24/7 including out of hours and emergency service cover and cover technical and operational services.

You will need to capture and input information on various computer systems and give advice and guidance within specific legislation and service standards to customers, contractors, and developers.

You will need to support the review of the group’s IT systems and develop and support a digital first approach across all of the group’s services.  You will lead the review of the Council’s essential highways data held on the National Street Gazetteer and ensure that it is up to date and accurate.

You will support the team to produce key performance data and identify areas for improvement through benchmarking analysis and bring forward new / innovative ideas to develop our IT systems and services.  You will also need good work planning and organisation skills to fulfil this role.

About you:

Our ideal candidate will require experience in accurate record keeping in dealing with transact service request and customer enquiries via the Group’s IT systems and within agreed timescales, policies, strategies and procedures, statutory legislation and relevant regulations within the required service areas.

You need to demonstrate you have experience in data management both text and geospatial mapping.  You must demonstrate the ability to organise works effectively to positively support the wider service requirements. You must have the ability to identify key areas for improvement and utilising new or innovative ways of working to deliver high quality services in a cost efficient and effective manner. You need the ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and external third parties to complete and update work progress, monitor and evaluate service performance.
