Finance & Office Manager - Redruth - £40,000 

Trial Balance Consulting have been invited to assist a long standing client, a highly respected community focussed services business, to source an experienced Finance & Officer Manager. This will be a broad and interesting role which spans many areas of the business’s operations with a key focus on developing and maintaining a highly efficient finance function. The role is offered on a permanent, full time basis though our client may consider a very experienced candidate seeking a four day working week. The role will be principally based at the business headquarters in Redruth but may offer some scope for hybrid/flexible working.  

Supported by a highly experienced team to include a skilled Assistant Accountant, and reporting to the Managing Partner, the successful candidate will assume a pivotal and varied role with key responsibility for the management of the finance function, IT systems, procurement, property management and ensuring compliant Health & Safety policies. Key focus of this diverse role to include: 

Finance - 

- Lead all aspects of a busy finance function supported by an experienced Assistant Accountant 

- Production of quality management accounts/information with financial commentary

- Ensure compliant statutory reporting and VAT calculations 

- Work closely with the Managing Partner and SMT in all aspects of budgeting, forecasting and planning for ongoing business projects 

- Regular liaison with Chartered Accountants who act for the business for both statutory and year end compliance, and as consultant Finance Director 

- Oversee accurate payroll collation (processed by an external provider) 

Other business areas - 

- Lead on efficient procurement formalities, ensuring that goods and services fall in line with business budgets 

- Play a key role in general facilities management to include property repairs and maintenance and equipment servicing etc. 

- Ensure that business insurance policies are maintained and meet the needs of a growing operation 

- Develop strong relationships with external IT contractors and internal IT technicians 

- Assist the SMT in developing, implement and maintaining stringent health & safety standards 

This is no ordinary Finance Manager role and will call for a highly organised, efficient and commercially astute applicant. The successful candidate may be part/fully professionally qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), or qualified through vocational experience but should have a sound understanding of the day-to-day financial lifecycle of a growing and often complex business. Strong statutory accounting and management reporting skills, as well as the use of digital accounting platforms will be essential. Experience in or an aptitude to get to grips with general facilities management will also be a requirement for the role. This role works with a highly passionate team and the Finance & Office Manager will assume a highly visible role, regular liaison with colleagues and external stakeholders (particularly Chartered Accountants), so excellent team-playing and general communication skills will be requisite.
