Job description
Our client is seeking a Lead Software Tester, based in Spalding, Lincolnshire office.
You will be responsible for preparing and executing test plans, scenarios, scripts and test cases to support high quality implementation of business changes, system enhancements, new systems and project delivery. Liaising with internal and external teams to resolve issues and defects in accordance with agreed processes and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Test Automation
• Leading a team of two members, taking the forefront in leadership
• Develop and meticulously maintain automated test scripts to enhance testing efficiency and broaden coverage.
• Ensure that all automation activities are delivered to a high quality (using risk based assessment approaches) documentation.
• Identify and communicate potential risks linked to automation testing and implement preventive measures.
Performance Evaluation
• Design and execute comprehensive performance tests to evaluate the scalability and reliability of software applications.
• Establish and sustain meticulous test documentation, encompassing test plans, test cases, and detailed test reports.
• Overseeing project updates from the initial stages through to completion, providing support for User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and facilitating customer sign-off before release.
Desired skills and experience:
• Accreditation in Software Certified Testing (ISTQB / ISEB)
• Minimum of 5+ years testing experience ideally within the financial services industry, but not essential
• Minimum of 2+ years managing and leading a team
• Proficient in the use of testing tools e.g. JIRA, TestRail and SOAP UI
• Must have previous working experience on large scale projects as well as handling day to day operational requests from the business.
• Working with API Technologies
• Front/Back office systems CRM and ERP
• Testing web platforms
• Working knowledge of the Agile Methodology and Practices
• Experience in identifying performance bottlenecks and recommending performance optimisation.
