JOB OVERVIEW: Procurement Manager - UK with a background in steelwork / fabrication / construction / engineering sought by market leading engineering company.

Salary : negotiable depending on experience and proven track record; C£60K-£70K as a guide, plus car allowance/car excellent bonus, pension, laptop, phone plus other benefits.

Location - Your office is near Maidstone, Kent with some travel around the UK.

Remote working - you may work a maximum of 2 days a week from home.

THE ROLE & OPPORTUNITY
As a result of a focus on profitable growth my client seeks an experienced Procurement Manager - UK who has proven experience of establishing and managing supply-chains within the following markets - steelwork / metal fabrication / construction / engineering. This is a pivotal role ensuring that my client is best placed to deliver its multi-million pound projects to site on time and within budget. You will be a hands-on, intuitive, energetic and forward thinker. We seek a leader who can develop and evolve opportunities at the highest level and have a passion for delivering and creating a winning culture. You will manage a team of procurement and buying professionals.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

- Educated to degree level/ professional qualification in a relevant area – procurement or engineering.

- You'll likely hold CIPS certification and/or Health and Safety / Project Management accreditations - ideally you'll have all but this ISN'T essential.

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience at management level

• Experience in managing steel (or similar) supply chains in multidisciplinary fields.

• Experience with contract negotiation

• Strong project management skills, particularly: planning, scheduling and controlling

• Good financial awareness including cost and budgetary control.

• Experience maintaining and working within ISO system
