Job description
To provide professional, efficient and high quality support to the Multidisciplinary Team meetings. The MDT Coordinator is recognised as a core team member of the MDT Team and coordinates the London Clinic's schedule of non-cancer MDT meetings.
1. Multidisciplinary team coordination and administration
- Send out reminders and agendas in the lead up to each meeting
- Liaise with clinical and administrative staff across directorates to compile the non-Cancer MDT meeting agendas
- Work closely with the Nurse Specialists to ensure that all requisite patients are on the agenda and that the relevant information is available for each case
- Ensure that any Radiological imaging reported elsewhere has been received and uploaded onto The London Clinic's PACs when necessary
- Ensure that any histology slides done elsewhere and requested for review have been sent to the Pathology Department when necessary
- Compile the necessary paperwork for each meeting from multiple sources and create copies for the attendees
- Ensure that all AV equipment is working before and during each meeting. Liaise with IT where necessary
- Attend MDT meetings which are scheduled to start at 18.00 and ensure the MDT recommendations are recorded for each patient discussed at the meeting, prompting the Chair for a clear diagnosis, staging and recommendation if necessary
- After each MDT meeting communicate the MDT recommendations securely to the relevant parties
- Escalate any issues communicated at the MDT meeting to the MDT Manager
- Keep the MDT database updated
- Administration of MDT attendance with attendance letters as required for Consultant appraisals and revalidation, updating any apologies
- Ensure that MDT members database is kept updated with all relevant Consultants and their details
- Liaise with the Hotel Services regarding MDT meeting catering
- Order and maintain a log of MDT Office stationary
- Provide cover when necessary due to annual leave or sickness
- To assist with the coordination of MDT AGMs and attend when required
- Service Development
- Work closely with the MDT Manager in the development and introduction of Interim/ Virtual MDT meetings at The London Clinic
- Ensure that all Interim MDT cases are processed as quickly as possible to ensure there are no delays in the booking of a patients' treatment
- To assist the MDT Manager in the MDT transformation project as guided by the MDT Manager
- Liaise with other departments within the London Clinic to provide information relating to MDT meetings/outcomes for patients to ensure the smooth flow of non-cancer patient's pathways across the Clinic
3. Data management
- Working with the MDT Manager in the collection of auditable data, used to assess compliance, service development needs and service improvement processes;
- To assist the MDT Manager in development of data for the quarterly Steering Group meetings
- Miscellaneous
- To maintain strict confidentiality with regard to all aspects of information and data with which the job holder comes into contact
- To be familiar with and adhere to the Clinic policies and attend mandatory updates
- To promote the Department and the Clinic in all activities
- To deal sensitively with all issues and people with whom the job holder comes into contact
- To work as an integral part of the team, and promote good working relationships with all contacts. To be willing and flexible in order to support the MDT Manager and other members of the MDT team as necessary at particularly busy times, or with specific project work;
- To provide cover for other MDT team members when necessary
