Do you want an opportunity to work in the French countryside? AWE is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to work within our EPURE facility in France. If you have experience in product assembly or mechanical engineering solutions, we want to hear from you.

Location: EPURE, France (North of Dijon)

Salary: £27,960 - £41,940 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

The Role?

EPURE is a UK/French Joint Research Facility being constructed on a French government site operated by the Commissariat à l'Energie Atomique et aux Energies Alternatives (CEA). The facility will be used to conduct explosively driven Hydrodynamic experiments in a safe and secure manner with state-of-the-art diagnostics. EPURE will enhance aspects of the UK and French existing Hydrodynamic capability and enable both countries to gather key physics data in support of their independent nuclear programmes long into the future.

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute towards the production of containment vessel parts as well as the delivery of high-quality technical reports and presentations. You will work in collaboration with our French colleagues and multidisciplined UK team.

To provide Mechanical Engineering capability to the Trails, Test & Evaluation Sub-Function in support of AWE programmes; work closely with experienced Engineers and assist in their development in the practical use of engineering methods, tools and processes in order to reach a point where they can apply them with decreasing levels of supervision.

All candidates must be able to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance for the role and be willing and able to work in designated areas.

This role will initially be based in the UK with the expectation that the employee (once visas are approved) will move to France for an assignment of up to 5 years. At the end of the assignment, the employee will be re-deployed back to the UK.
