Job description
What you will do in your working day
- Work to module requirements of Apprentice framework
- Follow instructions in Company induction process
- Follow instructions from Trainer / Supervisor
- Work to Company Quality, H&S and regulatory procedures
- Work to departmental administration requirements
- To operate machines within safety guidelines
- Cleaning and Deburring components
- Carry out basic maintenance of machines including cleaning, filling coolant and oil
- Inspect your own work
- Boxing and packaging components
- General machining duties
- Apprentices are required to take a “hands on” approach to their working and learning, so most of their time is spent on activities in the Manufacturing / Production environment
The training you will be getting
- The apprentice will be working towards the Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship Standard
- Qualifications include: EAL Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (Development Competence), EAL Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing Engineering (Foundation Competence) and EAL Level 3 Diploma in Machining (Development Knowledge)
- This is a 4 year apprenticeship with college attendance required once per week
- The first year is at Braintree campus and years 2 to 4 are at Colchester campus
