Overview

Our client’s offering is event technology – from providing systems that produce name badges for attendees on-demand as they arrive, to recording their interactions with sponsors and exhibitors by using the name badge as a data point.

From supporting car launches for major automotive brands in the UK, to the launch of a new floating city in Saudi Arabia, or a conference for healthcare professionals in San Francisco, they’re called in to provide systems and data expertise. They do this for many of the world’s best known brands on some fantastic live events.

This business is very successful and has performed very well from referrals, recommendations, web-generated leads and exhibiting at event industry trade fairs. And now they are looking to strengthen their brand by having a dedicated Marketing Manager that can show off their skills and wares. The website and social media needs updating, to take full advantage of marketing, to the prospect and customer database that they’ve built up over the years.

The job offers a fantastic opportunity to make a tangible impact on how a well and how widely a brand is established in its marketplace. Unusually, it is a chance to work with an established business with an exciting start-up growth mentality.

Salary: £27,000 to £33,000

The Role

o Oversee the redevelopment of our web site

o Conduct internal and external research to establish the brand values, core messages and key products.

o Evaluate current assets, oversee copywriting and photography.

o Appoint, brief and liaise with third party writer and photographers as needed.

o Review the e-commerce element of the site to maximise online sales.

o Work with a developer to build the site and arrange hosting.

o Ensure spending is managed for maximum efficiency and value.

o Measure the site’s performance against agreed targets.

o Optimise and build on the site to improve performance.Establish our new event technology-focused brand,

o Manage the web build, brand collateral, social media presence and email marketing for the brand.

o Develop an email marketing strategy for both brands, capitalising on our existing database and investigate other options for sourcing data.

o Establish the social media presence. Create and implement a strategy for channels and content.

o List selected products on Amazon and Ebay. Design listings, create content, oversee product delivery and drive sales through these marketplaces.

o Manage the presence at exhibitions. Manage marketing collateral, comply with requirements from the organiser, and ensure they maximise the lead capture and conversion opportunity. Attend exhibitions and contra-deal events.

o Approach customers to grow strong list of online reviews.

The Person

A focused, strategic and efficient approach to managing a large task list. They need somebody who isn’t fazed by the breadth of the role, and can work out a plan of action to ensure the right tasks are prioritised at the right time.

o Proven ability to develop a brand. Sharp instinct as to how digital marketing can build a brand with the budget of a small business.

o An eye for aesthetics and detail. you don’t need you to be a graphic designer; you do need you to understand what makes a design look balanced, what makes a photograph have impact, and what will catch someone’s eye in their social feeds.

o Ability to measure the impact of your efforts and our marketing spend.

o Understanding of how to develop a brand voice.

o Pro-active and self-sufficient.

o Strong customer facing skills and communication.

o A strong desire to take personal responsibility for how a brand is marketed.
