Job description

Are you an experienced professional/surveyor in the property services department. We are recruiting a Housing Contracts Surveyor to join our Property Services team at South Holland District Council!

As a team, we are at the forefront of delivering planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes for over 3800 council properties and are responsible for the procurement of contractors to undertake these works. Along with the delivery of these programmes which enhance our tenants’ lives, the team is also responsible for ensuring tenants safety in their homes by carrying out statutory duties as landlords such as: Decent Home/Stock Condition surveys, Damp/mould/condensation inspections, Gas and Electrical safety checks.

Typical duties will be:

Review specifications, schedules of rates, work schedules, and other tender documentation and manage the contracts processes in accordance with the Council’s.
Act independently on the determining attributes of minor works contracts across the Councils General needs Housing stock and Sheltered accommodation.
Oversee contracts after award to ensure that contract deliverables are realised. i.e., CDM, H&S, Social Value.
Work with the legal team by providing documents and evidence in line relation to any land sales or Right of Easements
Oversee external contract with procured conveyance contractor concerning the Right to Buy process and land/Boundary disputes.
Do you hold the following?

HNC/HND equivalent in a building-related subject or hold suitable experience within the construction industry.
Effective communication and listening skills.
The ability to work as part of a team as well as under your own initiative.
Full UK driving licence.
