As a Deputy Course Director, you’ll support the Course Director in delivering our residential courses for international students smoothly and successfully.

• Coordinate the planning and delivery of the social and cultural programme at one of our sites - usually a university college or a boarding school.
• Manage the performance and behaviour of Course Leaders or House Parents, overseeing their organisation and execution of excursions, meals and activities, and delegating as appropriate
• Deputise for the Course Director in their absence, including as the decision-maker in an emergency situation.
• Assist the Course Director with student discipline, welfare, and safeguarding.
• Supervise the cost of delivery within budget, keeping accurate records of costs and payments.
• Support more junior staff members to deliver a high quality course .
• Liaise with the host college or school to ensure a safe and comfortable residential experience.
• Share overnight duties, responding appropriately to any issues that arise.

Location: Residential role available at no extra cost to the employee, meals provided when on duty. You’ll work and live in some of the most prestigious university locations across Cambridge. Participating in our social and cultural programme could include day trips across the UK, local activities such as punting and formal hall dining in historic colleges.

Minimum requirements

• Experience in a position of authority working with children or young people
• Experience in staff management and development
• Experience with partnership management
• Able to work to a prepared budget
• General IT competency
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Right to work in the UK (we cannot sponsor work visas for this role)
