My client is looking for a CNC Programmer with experience of sliding head turning, 3, 4 and 5 axis milling and fixed-head turning to support its expanding hi-tech precision engineering business working for industries such as civil and defence aerospace, opto-electronics, marine, sensors, telecommunications, motorsport and medical products.
The long established manufacturing Hi-Vac company, has three new openings for mechanical engineers using a variety of CNC machines with experience of using recognised measuring equipment and quality inspection.
The roles include
- Creating CNC programs using both CAD/CAM software and manual programming techniques to achieve efficient and effective manufacture of machined parts on 3, 4 & 5 axis milling machines, including ‘in-machine’ inspection using Renishaw probing systems.
- Investigating and establish appropriate tooling and workholding solutions.
- Producing NPI ‘First Run’ (new product) ensuring that best possible programming/ workholding and tooling solutions are being used.
- Creating documentation and tool-kits as required to ensure future production runs can be carried out effectively by colleagues.
- Inputting daily setting and production information into the production scheduling system and updating the visual management systems, including the accurate recording of setting pieces and production scrap issues.
- Operating and managing machines during production runs, ensuring high standards of quality are always maintained.
- Managing machine tooling during production, managing tool wear offsets and counters.
- Completion of ‘In Production’ inspection and the accurate recording of results, including the use of first principles inspection methods and various inspection measurement systems including shadowgraph, OGP and CCM equipment.
- Monitoring daily production rates for the designated machine tools, escalating issues to the Production Manager and Quality Team where necessary.
- Maintaining the working area and equipment to the highest standard of cleanliness and organization, in line with the company’s 5S processes.CNC programming using both CAD/CAM software and manual programming..
If you have experience in design and creation of 3D models and proven knowledge and experience in creating complex CNC programs using CAD and CAM software systems such as Autodesk Solidworks, Autodesk Fusion 360 and EdgeCAM, please apply as soon as possible.
