Mayday Personnel are hiring a part time Sous chef. This is a great opportunity to work at a well-established pub and restaurant. Working alongside the head chef, or working as the head chef on solo shifts. Serving great food to both regulars and first-time diners.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the kitchen team with enthusiasm, and efficiency.
* Ensure high standards of food quality, presentation, and taste are consistently maintained.
* Manage inventory, control food costs, and minimize waste.
* Motivate kitchen staff and work within the already coherent team
* Adhere to health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment.
* Collaborate with management to drive profitability and achieve culinary goals.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Chef in a busy kitchen environment.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
* Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking methods, and sanitation standards.
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Hours:
* Wednesdays and Thursdays – split shifts (12 midday – 2:30pm) break (5:30pm – 9pm)
* Saturday and Sunday shifts – various hours
* Average 25 - 30 hours / week
Salary:
* £12-14 p/h
