Temporary Relief Weighbridge Clerk / Admin

Pay rate: £11.13 per hour PAYE

Hours per week: 40 Monday – Friday, 08:00 - 17:00

1 Saturday and 1 Sunday every 4 weeks

This opening assignment is for 4 months

A Relief Weighbridge Clerk is required to provide cover on the weighbridge across the four transfer stations located in Huyton, Bidston, Southport and Gillmoss. Covering 4x sites and will be advised which location to be stationed prior to the week; if asked to move location during the day travel expenses will be paid. Working 1 Saturday and 1 Sunday every 4 weeks.

Key responsibilities:

Inspect loads at the weighbridge to ensure that they are the same wastes detailed in the paperwork provided.
Ensure that all paperwork is filed appropriately and copies forwarded to archive.
Ensure weighbridge tickets detail the correct weights, the right account is selected and that documents accompanying each load are complete and accurate. Each type of waste has a chargeable weight and therefore impacts the company's revenue and profit.
Ensure all Health and Safety instructions, check site users have completed site rules e-inductions and ensure they are being followed. Answer any internal ticket queries.
Collate daily, weekly, and monthly administrative records of all deliveries which is a statutory requirement.
Ensure that Visitors and Drivers are wearing the correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Ensure Visitors report to reception and sign in and advise line manager if an induction is required.
Ensure that all vehicles internal and external are weighed correctly upon entry and exit and are booked onto the right accounts.
Deal with phone call queries from the members of the public.
Ensure that waste loads that require samples are sampled and correctly recorded in line with policy and legislation. Implement standard work practices to ensure activities conform with company policy, procedures and relevant legislation e.g. vehicles are sheeted upon arrival, no children, no animals etc.
Complete annual Duty of Care paperwork. Ensure all weighbridge tickets are validated.
Assist in administration duties where required, to include vehicle compliance.
Be flexible in order to cover duties at any other sites.

Qualifications:

GCSEs including Maths and English.

Experience:

Weighbridge experience required.
Minimum of 12 months recent experience in a similar role or context and ideally within a public sector organisation.

Skills & Abilities:

Strong interpersonal skills.
Customer service and good communication skills.
Strong IT skills including Microsoft packages or equivalent (e.g. G Suite).
