Responsibilities:
- Interact with clients and assist in developing communication strategies to present to stakeholders, including the general public, neighborhood groups, and related elected officials, and communicate information regarding proposed projects, design initiatives, and construction
- Prepare for and actively participate in or facilitate public meetings and virtual public engagement
- Management of public involvement projects and management of public involvement team members
- Document the public process including meeting notes and public comments, and analyze meeting success and impact in influencing or changing public attitudes using critical thinking, judgement, and experience
- This position required working closely with internal and external teams, including production/graphics, agency partners, and professional staff on multidisciplinary teams.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration/Policy, Transportation and/or Urban Planning, Communications, or related field
- 1-3 years’ experience preferred, recent grads encouraged to apply
- Experience with Microsoft Office, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, SketchUp, ArcGIS, and utilizing social media
- Bilingual skills (Spanish, Portuguese, Haitian Creole, Mandarin, Cantonese or Arabic) a plus, but not required
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
- Strong interest in transportation related matters
- Proven ability to attend to detail and effectively manage multiple tasks in a time-effective manner
- Some night and weekend work may be required
