Job description

High-Level Teaching Assistant

Are you an experienced and dedicated educator looking to take on a more advanced role in supporting students' learning and development? We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic High-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at primary school and play a key role in enhancing the educational experience of our students.

Responsibilities:
  • Support classroom teachers in delivering high-quality teaching and learning experiences across the curriculum, with a focus on Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 in primary school settings.
  • Lead small group interventions and support individual students who require additional assistance, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL).
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons and learning activities, adapting teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students throughout primary school.
  • Provide feedback to teachers on student progress and performance, contributing to the assessment and monitoring of student achievement and attainment.
  • Promote positive behavior management strategies and create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and respected.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to support the holistic development of students and address any barriers to learning effectively.
Requirements:
  • Qualified HLTA status or equivalent experience in a similar role within a primary school setting, with a strong understanding of Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 curriculum requirements.
  • Proven experience in delivering high-quality teaching and learning support, including leading small group interventions and providing targeted support to students with SEN and EAL needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents throughout primary school.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to supporting teaching and learning, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of students, with a commitment to promoting inclusive education and raising achievement for all.
