Sales Estimator / Engineer - Oldham - Manufacturing

About The Company & Role

My client is an established, family-owned engineering business dedicated to solving complex problems for technically demanding customers world-wide. They have an extensive track record of delivering innovative solutions and products to a variety of industry sectors including Scientific Equipment, Aerospace, Nuclear, Defence and Medical sectors.

Due to a growing order back and succession planning they are currently looking to recruit an experienced Sales Estimator. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining client relationships, undertaking sales estimates, generating quotations and providing technical advice relating to products and production processes.

Successful candidates should have a strong background in Technical Sales Estimation and Customer / Supplier Liaison with the desire to deliver results. Previous experience in a similar role gained within technical manufacturing, engineering solutions, scientific equipment, electronics or similar would be extremely desirable.

Sales Estimator / Engineer - Package Details

• £42,000 to £49,500 Basic Dependent on Experience
• 37.5 Hour Working Week - Monday to Friday
• Pension

Sales Estimator / Engineer - Requirements

• NVQ Level 4 (HND or equivalent) qualification or higher
• Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.?
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling effective interaction with clients, colleagues, and suppliers
• Proficiency in costing methodologies based on engineering drawings
• Experience in a manufacturing environment
• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to check your own work?
• Demonstrated problem-solving ability and a proactive mindset
• Previous experience of working within an AS9100 environment would be beneficial
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Spreadsheet Costing is highly desirable

Sales Estimator / Engineer - Responsibilities

• Prepare and present comprehensive quotations, demonstrating a strong understanding of customer needs and product offerings
• Work with suppliers and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing information for estimates?
• Provide accurate cost estimates based on engineering drawings, leveraging your expertise in costing methodologies
• Collaborate closely with our small team to ensure seamless coordination between sales, engineering, and production departments?
• Build and nurture client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships
• Liaise with customers to review their requirements, providing valuable insights and tailored solutions?
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the industry and marketplace?
• Maintain documentation and adhere to our quality management system to ensure compliance with standards
• Engage in effective communication, responding promptly to sales inquiries via email or telephone, delivering exceptional customer service
