PETA are proud to be working with Korber Technologies to recruit and train a Trainee Machinist Apprentice. This opportunity is a full-time role based at their site in Winchester.
Training to be provided: As a Trainee Machinist Apprentice, you will be studying a Level 3 Machining Technician Apprenticeship. Throughout your Apprenticeship with Korber, you will be supported by your company mentor and your PETA Learning and Development Coach.
You will attend PETA’s Havant training centre for off-the-job training, one day per week for 39 months of the apprenticeship.
Overall duration 45 months.
The job role is to start ASAP and training to start in April. Not suitable for school leavers 2024. About the role: Joining the team as a Trainee Machinist Apprentice, your role will be focused on learning a range of machining processes such as milling, turning, grinding, drilling and broaching within a workshop environment. You will become competent in reading & understanding technical drawings and have exposure to different departments in the business when doing this apprenticeship.
Your core responsibilities will include:
- Setting & Operating manual machines
- Setting & Operating CNC machines
- Inspection of operations against jobs
- Use of Fusion 360 CAM package & CNC programming
Apprenticeship Progression: Over time, the role will develop to offer challenging new responsibilities to stretch your capabilities and understanding. Upon completion of your apprenticeship programme, there is the potential to be offered a full-time position.
Our ideal CNC Machinist Apprentice: An apprenticeship is all about learning new knowledge, skills and behaviours, therefore, to be considered for this role of a Trainee Machinist Apprentice, you must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in engineering and a willingness to learn.
You will also require: - GCSE Maths and English grade C/4 or above / or equivalent
- A strong work ethic and motivated with a can do attitude
- Good communication skills
- Team-working skills
- Ability to use initiative and willing to ask lots of questions
