Job description
Barnet, Enfield & Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust are excited to offer a Band 4Associate Mental Health Worker post in Intensive Support Team in the Barnet Older People CMHT. We are seeking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic individual to work within this very exciting and rewarding area of mental health care for individuals experiencing a first episode of mental health problems. Thispost is open to staff who meet the skills set in the person specification for Band 4. The post holder responsibilities are outlined in the job description.
The post holder will be responsible for participating and assisting in the delivery of care/services to patients and service users as part of a Multi-disciplinary Mental Health Care Team, working under the direct or indirect supervision of a registered member of staff. They will be responsible for carrying out practical tasks, identified as part of the patient’s and service users care plan or care pathways.

1. Undertake a range of duties which involve direct patient care, under supervision following competency assessment.
2. Assist in the coordination of care delivery for a case load of service users in the community with mental health problems including those with severe and enduring mental illness under the supervision of a registered professional, in close collaboration with the Service Line, psychiatric multidisciplinary team, service users and other community agencies.
3. Contribute to the monitoring of the physical environment ensuring that it is safe and conducive to the therapeutic work of the unit/community setting.
4. Have informed knowledge and understanding in the psychological, social, physical and spiritual needs of all service users.
5. Actively participate in the care and rehabilitation of service users as per the plan of care determined by registered practitioners.
6. Maintain clear, timely, comprehensive and contemporaneous written clinical records on all patients under your care in accordance with Trust Records Management Policies (2010).
7. Utilising IT skills and knowledge to access and input clinical information and data to the Trust electronic date base (RiO) and Local Authority IT system to record service user’s information.
8. Using the Care Programme Approach to assess service user’s health and social care needs.
