Our client is seeking a talented and motivated Structural Investigation Engineer to join their growing team in Milton Keynes. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to diverse projects across residential, commercial, and other sectors, while developing your skills and career alongside experienced professionals.
What you'll do:
- Conduct structural investigations on various buildings, from residential to commercial, using diverse materials and structural forms.
- Assist in developing and refining our structural investigation services.
- Manage and deliver projects independently, including financial responsibility and client communication.
- Support the team in managing projects and staff/consultants.
- Conduct site visits and develop investigation/repair plans for issues like fires and foundation problems.
Who we're looking for:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered Engineer (ICE, IStructE) or actively pursuing chartership.
- Experience in structural investigations and reporting for low-to-medium rise buildings (ideally including tall buildings).
- Expertise in identifying, reporting, and repairing building defects.
- Experience with structural safety investigations, ideally related to the Building Safety Act.
- Familiarity with foundations, masonry, concrete, steel, and timber structures (eurocodes).
- Experience in the residential market (traditional and framed structures).
- Tekla software (Tekla Structures/Tedds) and AutoCAD/Revit proficiency preferred.
- Previous management experience a plus.
- Strong decision-making, initiative, and independent work ethic.
