Kinetic Recruitment are currently resourcing for a Quantity Surveyor for a long term temporary contract for a high profile client in Newcastle Upon Tyne.The role of Quantity Surveyor will be on a full time basis working from our clients site in Heaton.As Quantity Surveyor you will be involved in the full end to end process from bid stage to project close and lessons learned. Engaging with various stakeholders both internally and externally to support successful delivery of projects. The role will also involve travel to customer sites as well as travel between offices in Newcastle and Leeds. The business is very diverse, and this offers great opportunity to be involved in projects of varying size and complexity.Your Responsibilities;Analyses and comments on tenders, contracts and contract related documents and gives proactive advice and support throughout the bid process.Supports the internal authorisation process and checks compliance with other internal guidelines and / or processes.Participates in contract negotiations and in formulation/implementation of negotiation strategy.Ensure adherence to internal standards and compliance with external regulations.Captures internal data and prepares presentations and analyses.Contributes to standardisation of contracts and improvement processes.Implements standards, guidelines, and processes regarding effective Contract Management.Participates in developing project specific conceptsParticipating in variation and claim management on customer contract or subcontract, mitigating risk or minimising liability claims.Develops, implements, and regularly reviews the claim strategy with regards to customers, sub-suppliers, and partners together with Operational and Finance and Commercial teams.Shares best practices with the business..Sets up and conducts trainings for business partners and colleagues.Other activities assigned by your direct line managerSkills and Experience;Previous experience in a Quantity Surveyor / Contracts role, working within a project environmentExperience ideally gained in a similar or related industry e.g. Infrastructure, rail, engineering, defence, constructionDegree in quantity survey or a professional qualification accredited by the Royal Institute for Chartered Surveyors (RICS) is requiredExperience in Civil Construction (Plant/ Power Industry related)Able to manage both direct labour and subcontract costsAbility to estimate change / variations using various methodsAble to forecast cost and measure cost of work completeGood negotiation skillsAbility to manage commercial strategiesAbility to manage expectationsStrong communicator with excellent written and oral communications skills, as well as a good team playerGood financial and commercial acumenAbility to work under own initiative and under cost or time critical conditionsGood Contractual knowledge and experienceConfident and able to deal externally and internally at all levelsAbility to operate effectively within a team environmentStrong computing skills in MS word, excel, project and MS OutlookIf you think you meet the above criteria and are interested in applying for the role, click on the link to apply!Kinetic plc is a Recruitment Consultancy with over 40 years' experience delivering staffing solutions to the engineering, manufacturing and technical industries.Kinetic plc treats all applications confidentially and we review all submissions.
