Job Title: Health and Safety (H&S) Manager
Location: Preston
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum
Working Arrangements: Full-time, On-site, Regional (occasional nationwide) travel required
Our client, a rapidly growing Facilities Management business based in Preston, is seeking an experienced Health and Safety (H&S) Manager to join their dynamic team. This is a newly created role reflecting the company's expansion, and the ideal candidate will have a background in Facilities Management and hold a NEBOSH Diploma qualification.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement robust health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments and audits across multiple sites, identifying hazards and implementing effective control measures.
Provide expert guidance and support to management and staff on health and safety matters, promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing detailed reports and recommending corrective actions.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
Deliver comprehensive health and safety training programs, keeping employees informed and engaged.
Collaborate with operational teams to integrate health and safety considerations into the planning and execution of projects.
Oversee the development and maintenance of health and safety documentation and records.
Qualifications and Experience:
NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent.
Proven experience in health and safety management within the Facilities Management sector. NHS experience is a bonus.
In-depth knowledge of health and safety legislation, regulations, and best practices.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
Ability to travel regionally, occasionally nationwide, as required.
Full driving license.
Remuneration:
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from £50,000 to £60,000 per annum. A company car is provided, and travel expenses will be covered for nationwide travel.
