Job description
My client is a leading Independent school, looking to recruit a driven and dynamic finance professional to play a key role in the future of the school. The successful candidate will be joining an innovative and long-standing school, quickly becoming a key member of the senior leadership team.
The Director of Finance & Operations will manage the strategy and operational aspects of the business functions across the school, with a strong emphasis on financial management, health and safety, human resources, premises, compliance and IT. You’ll provide strong financial stewardship, leading on all financial aspects of the organisation including budgets and controls, internal financial procedures and processes, management and statutory accounting. The successful candidate will also have the confidence to oversee non-finance support areas of the school with the support team, with the gravitas necessary to quickly establish yourself with both academic and support staff. Ideally a fully qualified accountant, you must be a strategic thinker, with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams. Previous experience within an education setting would be highly desirable, but is not essential, as applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate strong finance and budgeting experience paired with robust commercial judgement in a comparable setting.
