Chesterton Community College

Job description
KS5 maths lead
Chesterton Community College is seeking to appoint an outstanding and experienced KS5 teacher with excellent subject knowledge and communication skills to join our very successful Maths department and lead the A-level course. Chesterton Sixth Form opened in September 2022 with Maths (OCR Maths & OCR Further Maths) being two of the most popular courses.
Class sizes are very small (this academic year class sizes in Maths are around 8-10 students per class), and our entry requirements mean students have achieved excellent grades at GCSE and are very motivated to do well.
The successful candidate will bring experience of teaching, and possibly leading, KS5 and will be able to oversee both the Maths and Further Maths A-level courses, refining schemes of work, assessments and exam preparation. You will be supported by outstanding colleagues who know and understand the school and who work very well as a team.
The department is fully staffed, with all teachers having Maths subject expertise. This brings strength in depth and capacity, and we are committed to ongoing staff development at all levels.
Teaching will be mainly based in KS5, but could also be at KS3 & KS4. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious, driven and forward-looking individual and we welcome your application.
