Location: An Alternative Provision in York, North Yorkshire Contract: Full-time, starting at Easter until the end of the academic year

Job Description:
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Teacher with a specialisation in Phonics to join a forward-thinking team of Educators, on a full-time basis, starting at Easter until the end of the academic year. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting a new student joining the provision, with a particular focus on developing phonics skills and supporting early literacy development.
Early Years Foundation Stage Teacher (Phonics Specialist) Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and interactive Phonics lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of early years students.
- Use a variety of multi-sensory resources and teaching strategies to make Phonics accessible and enjoyable for all students, including those with additional needs.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to develop and implement personalized support plans for the new student, focusing on phonics and early literacy development.
- Provide regular assessments and progress monitoring to track the new student's phonics skills and literacy progress.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes a love for learning and encourages student engagement.
- Maintain strong communication with parents/carers and external professionals to ensure continuity of support and progress for the new student.
Early Years Foundation Stage Teacher (Phonics Specialist) Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Specialisation or significant experience in teaching Phonics, particularly in an early years setting.
- Experience working with young children with diverse needs, with a strong understanding of early literacy development and effective teaching strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers, and external professionals.
- Commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity within the early years provision.
- Flexibility, resilience, and a positive attitude towards supporting the individual needs of every child.
