About the Role

Inventya is a delivery partner formultiple projects – where we provide fully funded bespoke support to innovativebusinesses to help them grow and scale. One such project is working with Wigan Council to deliver a programme ofsupport to businesses and entrepreneurs to stimulate innovation, creativity,new businesses and growth particularly in the frontier sectors of clean growth,health innovation, advanced materials, digital, creative and media.

The Business & Entrepreneur Advisor willbe of exceptional high calibre and capable of being a combination of coach,mentor, critical friend, and champion. It is mandatory to have experience ofsupporting and advising SMEs, senior management teams and innovators at variousstages of the innovation and business life cycle. You will play a crucial role in providingstrategic guidance to businesses, start-ups and individuals, helping themnavigate challenges, driving business growth and commercialising innovations.

We are specifically seeking candidates basednear Wigan that understand the business support ecosystem and businessdemographics of the area.

Requirements

• To facilitate aholistic analysis of businesses wanting to diversify and grow through innovation,assisting with idea generation, prioritising opportunities and identifypotential courses of action
• Provide expertadvice and guidance to innovation led entrepreneurs and startup founders onbusiness planning, strategy development, and overall business growth
• Act as strategiccoach and mentor to support the development and implementation of long-terminnovation commercialisation plans
• Specificallyprovide a combination of advice, coaching and mentoring covering the followingareas of support: Business planning, Market analysis, New product, service and process development, adopting new to firm technologies or processes, Digitalisation of businesses
• To buildrelationships and facilitate introductions into the local, national andinternational innovation and business support ecosystems
• Account manage aportfolio of businesses and entrepreneurs, and deliver bespoke support packages by working with companiesone-to-one
  

Skills / Experience

• A good understanding of theWigan business support ecosystem and demographics
• Able to express ideas clearly,both verbally, face-to-face, by telephone, and in written communications andactively listen to others logically and accurately
• Business acumen and enoughexperience to credibly mentor Senior Managers in development of differentiatedbusiness models
• Experience of leading workshopsin developing and pivoting business models in response to changing marketperceptions
• Able to help the companies establishclear, impact driven measurable goals for its innovation strategy withalignment to the overall business growth strategy
• Actively participates as a fullmember of a team, effectively contributing and sharing information even when itis of no direct personal interest
