Job description
Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Wokingham
A Teaching Assistant provides support to teachers and students in an educational setting, assisting with various tasks to enhance the learning experience and ensure a conducive learning environment.
- Supporting teachers in delivering lessons and facilitating classroom activities.
- Providing one-on-one or small group support to students with their academic work.
- Assisting with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
- Supervising students during lessons, breaks, and other school activities.
- Assessing students' progress and providing feedback to teachers.
- Helping to maintain discipline and promoting positive behaviour among students.
- Assisting with the organisation of educational outings and events.
- Collaborating with teachers and other staff members to support students' individual needs.
- A minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with students.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is preferred but not essential.
- Prior experience working with children or young people in an educational or similar setting is desirable.
- Understanding of educational practises and principles.
- Familiarity with relevant teaching resources and materials.
- Basic IT skills, including proficiency in commonly used software applications.
- Ability to adapt to the specific needs of different students.
- A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Additional qualifications related to working with children or supporting learning.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
