Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Account Manager to join a specialty chemical business and further develop their Personal Care market. They are open to varying levels of experience, from a scientific graduate looking for their first role, to a more accomplished account manager in this market. You will be travelling to UK customers 3 days a week and office based for the other 2 days.
The Role
The role will have responsibility for developing and maintaining excellent relationships with their customers, developing new business, and giving technical support to customers’ R&D teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop strong technical understanding of our wide range of Personal Care ingredients, their chemistry, benefits, and formulation characteristics.
- Understanding the needs of each of our customers, from brands to formulators and contract manufacturers.
- Visiting a variety of UK customers to develop long-term working relationships with their R&D, Purchasing and Marketing teams.
- Communicating scientific information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstration of our ingredients in prototype formulations to showcase Aston’s portfolio to customers.
- Gather and share trends information to help our R&D team develop market trend presentations.
- Attend relevant industry events, such as UK and Global exhibitions.
- Develop strategies and growth plans for customer accounts, to seek out new business opportunities.
Candidate Qualifications and Experience
- A strong scientific education and preferably a degree in a scientific subject.
- Full UK driving licence.
- A clear and concise communicator.
- The ability and aspiration to travel.
- Account Manager role: experience working in Sales in either the Personal Care or related sector.

Package
- £25k –£40k + Bonus + Company Car
